Doug, our weather intern, has issued the forecast for the week ahead. As always, he wrote it on a napkin, and as always, he has not looked outside.

Monday: damp. Tuesday: damp, but he was holding a coffee at the time. Wednesday: "cloud?", followed by a drawing of a sandwich.

Asked how confident he was, Doug said "quite", then admitted the napkin had been in the rain overnight and the forecast "might just be the napkin".
